This Thiers-Issard Chefs Bread Knife has a unique deep serration pattern that is designed to perform with any type of bread. You will be impressed with the ease at which it slices through even the softest bread.
The secret to slicing soft or very fresh bread is to let the knife do the work. Support the sides of the loaf and saw the blade back and forth with minimal downward force. Keep a close eye on the angle of the blade in relation to the slice you are cutting. Try and keep the slice even, front to back and top to bottom.
Some loaves straight out of the oven are best to be left to sit between slices while the steam escapes from the newly exposed surface. This steam can cause the bread to stick and bead to the surface of the knife which impairs a smooth cut. Leaving it to sit and steam for a minute will make all the difference in the situation.
